About Punjabi Calendar

Punjabi Calendar is a reference site for the desi, Nanakshahi and Bikrami calendars used in Punjab. It covers daily desi dates, Sangrand, Masya and Puranmashi, Gurpurab dates, Punjab Government holidays and festival guides. The site is in English with Punjabi (Gurmukhi) terms, for Punjabis at home and abroad and for anyone who needs Punjabi dates.

Why we built it

Questions like "what is today's desi date?", "when is the next Sangrand?" or "which day is Masya this month?" usually lead to a photo of a printed jantri or a cluttered page. We wanted a fast, clear site that answers them directly and explains how each answer was reached.

See how we calculate. Gurpurab dates come from the SGPC calendar, and holidays from Punjab Government notifications.

Respect and neutrality

Where there are differing views within the community, such as the original and amended Nanakshahi calendars, we present them fairly and do not take sides. Festival guides describe traditions respectfully and in general terms.

Our network

Punjabi Calendar is part of a small group of regional calendar sites, including Tomorrow Calendar, Kerala Calendar, Assam Calendar, Urdu Calendar.

Independence

We are not affiliated with the Government of Punjab, the SGPC, Sri Akal Takht Sahib or any gurdwara or religious organisation. Official announcements always take precedence.
