Holidays come from government notifications, which can be revised. Deputy Commissioners may declare local holidays. For leave, travel or legal deadlines, confirm with the official notification.

Desi and lunar dates are calculated for Amritsar as described on how we calculate. Jantris from other publishers may differ by a day.

For religious observances, follow your gurdwara, the SGPC calendar or your family tradition.

Religious and historical content

Festival and Gurpurab descriptions give brief, general accounts of widely known history and customs. They are not religious instruction and do not replace the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh Rehat Maryada or learned scholars.
