The month of Vaisakh
Vaisakh is harvest time. Wheat is cut and brought to the mandis, and Vaisakhi on 1 Vaisakh is both the harvest festival and Khalsa Sajna Divas. The heat builds through the month.
Vaisakh in the Barah Maha
On Sangrand, gurdwaras hold a special diwan where the verse for the new month from Guru Arjan Dev Ji's Barah Maha in Raag Majh is read. The Vaisakh verse speaks of the restlessness of those who are separated from the Beloved, and of how peace comes only when the soul meets the Lord through the company of the holy.
