The month of Katak
Katak is the busiest month on the farm, with paddy harvested and wheat sown. It is also the month of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas, and its full moon is the Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Katak in the Barah Maha
On Sangrand, gurdwaras hold a special diwan where the verse for the new month from Guru Arjan Dev Ji's Barah Maha in Raag Majh is read. The Katak verse teaches that each person reaps what they have done, and blames no one else; those who forget the Lord meet sorrow.
